CORVETTE RESTORATION:
1965 BIG BLOCK CORVETTE RED/RED ROADSTER:
Picture taken in 1984 per now vintage tennis shoes.
Car was done to strictest NCRS specs.
Back then it was really fun as I could call and talk directly
to folks like Dobbins , Charlie Stewart, etc. etc. The car
won many local trophies. Never did get it to Bowling Green, KY
to be judged. It had an original, true off-road exhaust
(not side-pipes, these were under the car) and
it sounded spectacular. In those times it was still possible
to get many new parts from G.M. We eventually sold it
in need of cash.
For all you Vette fans and car folks: This was car #23355 of 235620 produced.
It was built on July 15, 1965. Only 2157 cars had the 396/425 H.P. engine in
1965—The first year of the “Big Block” in the Corvette.
“TEAM RESTORATION”
The restoration crew shown here have been effected
(ever so slightly mind you) after putting in a few hard hours
and accidentally ending up down wind from the acetone
and rags. While their masks, fire extinguishers, and
proper protective clothing are not shown, rest assured
the most strict of protocols were enforced at all times.
This crew regretfully soon retired, lured away by more
lucrative venues including BMX racing and skateboarding.
